Altered Memory is a live audiovisual performance exploring how brain injury reshapes memory, identity, and one’s relationship to the past. Abstract projections, spatial sound, physical objects, and the words of brain injury survivors transform the performance space into an altered landscape of consciousness. As performers move through fragmented images and voices, internal and external realities begin to overlap. The work examines how one moves forward when memories of a life have completely changed, and how a new internal voice and sense of self can emerge from that transformation.
